Fingerdance: Billy McLaughlin

Last night while idly watching hoops (and playing “Angry Birds” on my iPhone), I heard, behind a dog food commercial of all things, a familiar piece of music: Fingerdance by Billy McLaughlin. It has been perhaps my favorite piece of fingerstyle guitar music for a long time, and there’s a lot to choose from. Give a listen:

At some point in his career, he lost his ability to play due to focal dystonia. Somehow, he fought his way back, and re-learned to play, left-handed. Here he is talking about this.
