This is the atrium of the old post office in Washington, D.C. This area was made into a mall sort of area, with food court and some shops. When I was there years ago it was lively and fun. Now, one has to clear security to get in, and it seemed kind of dismal, and there were empty storefronts. The economy probably has something to do with it. One can ride an elevator up to the tower of this old building and get a nice view of the capitol, the mall, and the city in general. I posted a pic I took from that vantage point on October 4, 2010.
